Sometimes I'm surprised at the lengths that gun controllers will go to in order to pass more gun laws.
I guess it is no surprise that Mike Bloomberg and Hillary Clinton (and many others) claim 100 people die each day due gun violence, when the number of gun homicides is about 35 per day. Two-thirds of gun deaths in America are suicides and should not be included in "gun violence" numbers. As the article rightly points out, additional gun control is unlikely to reduce suicides. However, I was shocked when I read about a District Attorney who refuses to prosecute gun crimes. I can't imagine hating guns, gun owners and basic freedom so much that I'd be willing to let people die in order to get more gun control. I guess that is what Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón is doing. Prosecuting the existing laws would make the community safer. Great quote from the article: “How can George Gascón have the nerve to talk about needing new gun laws when he refuses to endorse the ones we already have?” said veteran prosecutor John Lewin according to the Washington Examiner. “If you want to deter criminals from using guns, punish them for doing so. This is why we have gun enhancements! The idea is that you want to increase the penalty so much for using a gun in a crime that the criminals decide to leave them at home.” I think we'd all agree this is too far!
